The ONLY REAL MICROBREWERY in Bombay... the rest are fakes or wannabes

This place really gets it! Their brewed beer is fabulous..... only place in Bombay that actually passes the "microbrewery" tag. The rest are just fakes and don't know what they are doing. This place brews some excellent beers... their Kolsch, their Pale Ale, their Hefeweisen, and their Dunkel (? I Think ?) were all excellent. I was obviously a bit buzzed after all those pitchers with my mates. Their thin crust pizzas are truly special, and they have some very well trained Manipuri waitresses who are very high on politeness and customer service (much better than the local sweaty waiter that we otherwise find in this city and in this state unfortunately).
Good ambience (with outdoor and indoor seating), good polite knowledgeable service, good food, excellent brewskis! What's there not to like, huh? : )
Oh, and very well priced, a pint of microbrewed beer is roughly 235 + tax

No Brewing

Doesn't live up to its name as it does not brew anything. The space is large and spacious. However nothing exceptional about the Food or Drinks. The place was quite empty when walking in at 10 PM on a Friday night and even more deserted when leaving just after midnight.

Nothing in it that wants me to re-visit, unless maybe they start brewing !!

Must Visit

An amazing place with superb food. The place has a very cool, rustic, industrial, grunge look to it.. In my opinion very well done, and very inviting.

Well the food is just amazing!!

Ok well it's a little expensive... Big deal!

Go to any restaurant where they serve you this kind of quality produce and let see how much your bill comes upto.

In my opinion if you really want to eat some amazing cuisine which is reasonably priced and cooked by an amazing chef, where the service is above par, Brewbot is the place to go. Wait until the brew is brewing the place is gonna turn magical..

I'm Impressed !!!!!

Was there last night. Super ambience, music and courteous and polite staff. As is well known the brewery has not yet started, that in no way reduces the charm of the place. I am partial towards well spaced out seating and Brewbot lives up to my expectation there. I had the charbroiled prawns and the tenderloin steak and loved both, in terms of presentation and taste as well. Will definitely visit again once the brewery opens for business. In the meantime keep up the good work guys :-)

P.S. There seems to be some technical probs with the rating system on burrp. Hence just for the record my rating of brewbot is 4.0

A new brewery in town - Brewbot

Located in Versova Andheri west, home to some of the most well know Bollywood and Televion stars Brewbot is not very difficult to find. Surrounded by many well know eateries like La Folie etc. Similar to the other two breweries, Barking Deer n White Owl, you are up close to the beer plant.

Large seating areas with high  table and bar stools. As the brewery is not yet functional we were suggested by our attended to try their specials,  Beer Margarita which to my surprise was served in a very fancy way I must say. Its not every day you have a whole beer pint upside down in your glass.

For appetizers we had the Jerked Chicken Sliders and the Pulled Pork Sliders, both were very satisfactory and a complete worth of money. Also ordered a side a potato wedges since French fries were not on the menu.

For the main course as suggested we had The Lamb boulagnaise - Green flat noodles cooked in delicious lamb mince, a must try.

Overall we had a lovely experience  specially with the lovely food they served and not forgetting the beer margarita which definitely gives me a reason to visit Brewbot again.

Brewbot- A breath of fresh air

With permissions and licensing issues that move at snail’s pace, Brewbot joins the waiting list, but until then is heading here just for the food worth it?

beerIf you’re looking for someone to thank for the new microbrewery in Andheri – try Anand Morwani, Ketan Gohel and Ansh Seth. Much like the other two microbreweries The White Owl and The Barking Deer, you will have to wait just a little longer to sip on some of their home brews.

Located besides La Folie, Brewbot has a small alfresco area that leads you to the two storey brewpub. The striking décor is yet again doodled by The Busride Design Studio who also worked on Café Nemo in Worli. What you notice first is the huge beer rigs behind the bar and spacious booth seating to the left. While the rustic vibe is appealing, the funky Jazz music makes for great company until the food arrives.

It’s a long wait until we sip on award-winning brew master Julie Baggett’s brews. Until then we tried the two beer house specials, The Beer ’n’ Margarita (Rs750) and Beer Passion (Rs500). The beer margarita had a toppled bottle in the glass and as corona wasn’t available we settled for the kingfisher. It was a concoction of Curaçao, triple sec and tequila but it tasted quite like a carbonated lime juice. If you like chat masala then the Beer Passion is perfect for you. With the rim dipped in the spicy-salty masala this one has malty flavours with a mix of peach schnapps and passion fruit.

lolipopPart owner and alumnus from Le Cordon Bleu, Anand Morwani runs the kitchen and decides the menu here. His recommendation of the Goat Cheese Lollipops (Rs 445) was decadently cheesy. The tart flavor of the goat cheese is complimented by the crispiness of the cornflake coating. However we could barely get past the cheese and taste the jalapeno stuffing. Served with a side of rocket leaves and cheese dip the goat cheese lollipop makes for a great appetizer.

A 48-hour marination makes The Pulled Pork Slider (Rs 425) a tender, juicy pick. Shredded pork is sandwiched in a brioche bun with tangy gherkins and melted cheddar to complete this decidedly messy chomper.

lamb bologneseThe main course at Brewbot is a mix of German, Italian and French dishes. The house special Lamb Bolognaise (Rs 445) is a generous serving of fresh spinach fettuccini slow cooked with minced lamb and served with crispy garlic crostini. The flavour of the tender meat and soft pasta garnished with grated cheese fits the bill of perfect comfort food.

The Chicken Roulade (Rs595) is stuffed with a generous filling of minced bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms and chimichurri sauce (green sauce made from finely-chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano, and white or red wine vinegar). The thick tender chicken roulade is served with a side of hot potato wedges and grilled vegetables. While the flavours of mushroom, peppers and spinach work well together, the technique used to roll the roulade is spot on.

trioEasily mistaken as sauces the Trio of Pannacotta (275) is served in three small bowls. Each has a thin layer of chocolate, caramel and blueberry. Not very sweet and beautifully wobbly, this was simple, although a little too subtly flavoured.

The owners and service staff are always happy to help with prompt suggestions; however, we hope the brews are worth the wait. Until then we see no reason why you should miss out on the delicious food and fun ambience.

Must Try: Lamb Bolognese and Chicken Roulade

Meal For Two: Rs 2500+taxes (with alcohol)
